idea generator

The Idea Generator helps you find new solutions to problems within 30 minutes or less. Just answer the program's questions and the program nudges you out of your own "mental box". You role-play, use metaphor, and much, much more. It's guaranteed to get results. DOS. $99.95

The Idea Generator boosts creative thinking and planning skills by dividing the problem-solving process into three logical parts:

  • Problem Statement. Define the problem and related objectives to ensure each brainstorming session has a tight focus.
  • Idea Generation. Choose from seven thought-provoking techniques to create problem solving ideas, such as: Other Perspectives, Metaphors for the Situation and Reverse Your Goals.
  • Evaluation. Rank ideas vs. objectives, and consider long- and short-term costs and benefits of new ideas.

Print a Summary Report and list your new ideas, ranked for further consideration and analysis. Or print the report to a text file and use a word processor to turn your ideas into marketing plans, new products or that best selling novel!

The Idea Generator enhances the most powerful "expert system" ever devised -- your own mind!

Idea Generator is currently only available in a DOS version. We hope to release a Windows version in the future. However, if you're stuck for a good idea, why not take advantage of our new low price and give it a try. You will then be eligible for an Upgrade Discount on the Windows version when it's released.

Available here for $99.95.

How to run The Idea Generator in Windows 7

  1. Support for native DOS has been completely phased out of Windows 7. As you are probably already aware, the command prompt in Windows is NOT DOS, though it does function in a similar manner.
  2. However, you can use the emulator DOSbox. Be aware also that when you configure DOSbox, you're actually telling it how many processor cycles and how much RAM you want it to suck away from Windows processes. If you run DOSbox by itself, it's not really an issue, but if you want to run it in conjunction with your normal Windows programs, it can be a performance issue depending on what you're doing at the time.
  3. You can download DOSbox from:
  4. DOSBox works on Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.
  5. NOTE: If your Windows 7 is set up with heightened security, you may not be able to save Idea Generator dta files in the default location c:\idea\
